In a new report, the Harris-Walz campaign accuses that Project 2025 would affect the economy and social security of Latinos.

Middle-class Latino families and others in the United States could see an increase of up to $4,000 a year in their cost of living under Project 2025, according to a warning from Democrats, which has also been echoed by civil organizations.

“A second [Donald] Trump term would be a disaster for Latinos and their families: it would increase middle-class families’ costs by nearly $4,000 a year, make our communities more vulnerable to gun violence, and eliminate affordable healthcare,” states the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz.

Although former President Donald Trump claims not to be associated with Project 2025, several of his campaign proposals are included in the Republican Party’s agenda and Agenda 47.

This includes the possible elimination of healthcare and cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

“Donald Trump not only doesn’t care about Latinos, but his entire political career has been built on attacking them,” the Harris-Walz campaign warns. “He has made it his mission to go after the Latino community, leading the effort to block comprehensive immigration reform, and that’s just the beginning.”

The report highlights actions Trump has taken on immigration, social assistance, and the economy that have affected Latinos.

“Trump separated families and attempted to end protections for ‘Dreamers’,” the statement refers to the 2018 zero-tolerance policy, as well as the legal challenges to terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Other actions are added, such as budget recommendations that drastically cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and food assistance programs.

“Trump tried to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would have eliminated healthcare access for millions of Latinos and threatened protections for those with preexisting conditions,” it was noted.

For the Harris-Walz campaign, the extremist agenda of Trump’s Project 2025 and his allies will do nothing to benefit the Latino community.

“Donald Trump despises Latinos, and he has made it very clear with his words and harmful policies that directly attack our community. While Latinos work hard every day to make the American dream a reality for our families, Trump wants to tear families apart. Latinos want healthcare and freedom,” accused Maca Casado, Communications Director of the Harris-Walz 2024 campaign Coalitions.

“Trump wants to take away our healthcare and strip Latinas of their right to choose. Latinos want better education for our children, while Trump wants to eliminate the Department of Education and the Head Start program, leaving Latino children less likely to graduate high school or attend college,” she added.

Democrats have labeled Project 2025 as a “racist plan that doesn’t care about the Latino community.”
