The spokesperson of Vox in it Council of Mallorca, Toni Giliaccompanied by the counselors David Gil and Mari Paz Pérezoffered a press conference this Tuesday to announce the initiatives that his formation will take to the plenary session that the island institution is holding this Thursday.

Gili has demanded the resignation of the spokesperson of Month for Mallorca, Jaume Alzamoraafter the recent sale of a home he owned to a German buyer for 650,000 eurosin a context of serious housing crisis on the island. Toni Gili has stated that “You shouldn’t sit in your seat this Thursday” and has urged Alzamora to hand in his certificate as island councilor.

Vox crossed out “hypocritical» to the independence leader after the recent information published by OKDIARIO which reveal that the leader of Més per Mallorca has sold his house in the municipality of Artà to a German citizen for 650,000 euros in a context in which both he and his party have presented various initiatives to prevent foreigners from purchasing houses in the Balearic Islands with the aim of alleviating the serious housing crisis suffered by the archipelago.

The Vox spokesperson in the Consell de Mallorca has expressed his strong rejection of this transaction carried out by Jaume Alzamora, since it goes «against the principles that he himself has promoted» on repeated occasions during the two legislatures of the left-wing pact that he presided over Francina Armengol in the Government and Cati Cladera in the Council.

In addition, Toni Gili has announced the presentation of two motions. The first of them will focus on the growing insertion of non-labor propaganda on the bulletin boards intended for workers of the insular institution.

In this sense, Gili has denounced the improper use of these spaces by the Union of Teaching Workers of the Balearic Islands (STEI), citing an incident in which a pro-school sign was posted in Catalan, which was removed. “It is unacceptable that these boards are used for ideological purposes,” she said.

The second motion, which will be defended in Thursday’s plenary session by David Gil, deputy spokesperson, will urge the Ministry of Culture to establish a collaboration agreement for the conservation and maintenance of the Palau de Can Vivotan important Historical-Artistic Monument. Gili has highlighted the need for institutional support to preserve this emblematic building, which faces a critical situation due to lack of resources.

Vox reaffirms its commitment to the defense of workers’ rights and the preservation of Mallorca’s cultural heritage, and hopes that its motions will be supported in the next plenary session.
