(CNN) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claim to have killed a senior Hamas member during its continued operations in central and southern Gaza.

The IDF said on Saturday that Muhammad Mansour, “a member who acted as a source of technological knowledge in the Hamas military intelligence system,” had died, as did “several Hamas terrorists who led attacks against IDF soldiers.”

In southern Gaza, troops had located weapons and dismantled a large amount of terrorist infrastructure in the area, according to the statement.

As operations continue in central Gaza, troops had directed a plane to “dismantle Hamas’ terrorist infrastructure in the area.”

In total, the air forces had struck about 20 terrorist targets throughout the Gaza Strip, “including sites of terrorist infrastructure, military structures and terrorist cells,” the IDF said.

The Gaza Civil Defense reported this Friday that about 20 people were killed in central and northern Gaza. Hospital authorities said another 13 people were killed in an airstrike northeast of Rafah in southern Gaza. The Nasser Hospital released a list of the deceased, among whom were three children and three women.

CNN has asked the IDF to comment on the Rafah attack but has not yet received a response.
