(CNN Spanish) – This Sunday, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, reported, through his count in X, that eight members of the Air Force died in a helicopter accident in the department of Vichada.
“We regret to report the death of 8 members of the Colombian Air Force,” Petro said. “An arm of solidarity to their families in the midst of this news that mourns the country.”
The president added that the aircraft crashed to the ground while carrying out a humanitarian mission, but did not indicate what the reason for the accident could be.
