The Palma intermodal station has been evacuated after a fire broke out inside the facilities. Apparently, the fire started in a trash can when some young people exploded a lighter. The fire was detected around 9:15 p.m. and the evacuation of the facilities was immediately ordered. Two fire trucks and several units of the Local Police arrived at the scene instantly.

Currently around 200 people remain outside the station waiting to be allowed access although the train service has been suspended. At the time of the fire there were two train trips pending. Bus passengers have been directed outside the station.

According to initial information, there have been no injuries.

Other information indicates that coinciding with the fire, the presence of a suspicious suitcase has been detected, which is currently being analyzed by members of the TEDAX group (Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist Technicians).
