One of the main criticisms made of the UCM (Marvel Cinematic Universe) is that for the most part, the set of movies and series seem like “a cut and paste” without personality. Fictions made with a template with certain margins that cannot be transferred. Although of course, even in the house of ideas there are exceptions that have slightly contributed author’s color noteslike James Gunn’s work in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy or Sam Raimi with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. But even with those slight licenses, traditionally Kevin Feige and his team had not gone through certain red linessuch as excessive violence, sex scenes or nudity. Something that has changed with the first chapter of Agatha, who else? in which its protagonist has become the first woman without clothes in a Marvel film since it belongs to Disney.

Well obviously we are not talking about a full nude. Well, more than a moralism imposed by the company, it is a commercial strategy decision. If the studio programmed stories with characters without clothes or excessive violence, the label would have to distribute its films under the R rating in theaters and with surely some parental control within Disney +. Until now, characters like Hulk or Thor have appeared showing their rear ends, but Kathryn Hahn has been the first woman to appear in the same way in the marvelite universe. Hahn gives life to the witch who commands the series, recovering the character we met for the first time in Scarlet Witch and Vision. A spin-off late than major has been delayed on countless occasions, accumulating up to a total of four name changes from the series: Agatha: House of Harkness, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. Some title variants that did not bode well for the final result and quality of the fiction of this new secondary production, within a cinematic cosmos who has had to recover Robert Downey Jr. to restore hope to the near future of the franchise.

Those who have already seen the first episode of Agatha, who else? You will have noticed something quite unexpected within the production company’s film stories. Said pilot begins with Agatha Harkness (Hahn) trapped in a version true crime quite similar to what we have seen in other television shows like Mare of Easttown. Circumstance that is the result of the spell that Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) put on him at the end of Scarlet Witch and Vision. Fortunately for her, Rio (Aubrey Plaza) invades said spell to remind her who really ispushing her to strip naked through all the characters she has played after trying to steal the former Avengers member’s chaos magic. At the end of the process, Agatha is completely naked.

However, as we have emphasized previously, Hahn’s nudity refers to the fact that her own hair covers her breasts and her ass can only be seen in a brief shot. Regardless, seeing that female character walking around the neighborhood naked unsettles UCM regulars a little. Hahn in his last interview has confirmed that the idea was really his.

«Well, it occurred to me»the actress told him Variety. A resource that the Golden Globe winner sees as justified, given the narrative moment in which her character finds herself: “I thought it was good to see her as naked, literally, as possible, which spoke of her helplessness in the current moment. At that point in the series, she has been stripped of all power from her. I mean, she didn’t really have anything at that time, so it was about illustrating that gap between that moment and her regaining her power.”

The official synopsis of Agatha, who else? is as follows: «After being trapped in Wanda’s spell, Agatha is freed from her illusion, regaining her memory and discovering who she really is. The problem is that she has lost her powers and to do so, she will have to travel the Witches’ Path forming a coven with several unexpected allies. All this with the aim of recovering her strength again.

With nine episodes, Agatha, who else? It is planned as a miniseries in which, in addition to Hahn and Plaza, we find Maria Dizzia, Emma Caulfield, Ali Ahn, Patti LuPone and Joe Locke in the main cast.
