In a new one Blog entry BioWare has revealed more details about exploration and photo mode in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

For example, you can visit places that you may have heard of in the past. These include Arlathan Forest, Hossberg Wetlands, Minrathous, Rivain and Treviso.

Special abilities for companions

You can explore these places and find people and activities there, solve puzzles or learn more about the history of the world.

You can access this via a hub area called The Crossroads, where puzzles and additional missions also await you. The Crossroads is overseen by The Caretaker and the area is also connected to the Lighthouse, which serves as your base of operations.

There you chat with your companions, each of whom has their own room.

They also have certain abilities that are useful in the world and that you can use to interact with the environment. For example, Bellara can take a closer look at some old elven artifacts.

But even if there are appropriate companions in the Lighthouse, you can make use of their abilities with the help of your Lyrium Dagger.

Details about the photo mode come from IGN. You can move the camera freely, adjust various settings, hide the game character, companions, enemies and NPCs and so on.

Numerous other options, depth of field, autofocus, distance, bloom and so on, can also be adjusted. It all sounds quite extensive.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be released on October 31, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
