(CNN Spanish) – The presidential candidate of the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD), Edmundo González, thanked the Spanish political forces for their fight “for the recognition of the sovereign will of the people of Venezuela, expressed at the voting tables on July 28” and to the Spanish Congress that approved on Wednesday to recognize him as elected president of Venezuela.

González reiterated his gratitude to the government of Spain for receiving him and to President Pedro Sánchez, with whom he met this Thursday to talk about the crisis that afflicts Venezuela and “the need to work together for a transition to democracy.”
