(CNN Spanish) – A joint statement formulated by 41 member countries of the United Nations (UN) this Thursday requests the National Electoral Council of Venezuela (CNE) to immediately publish the results of all polling stations and allow the verification of disaggregated data to promote the credibility of the process election of July 28.

“We take note of the preliminary report of the United Nations Panel of Experts, which found that the electoral process fell short of ‘the basic measures of transparency and integrity’ that are essential for the conduct of credible elections,” it read the Foreign Minister of Panama, Javier Martínez Acha, representing the member states that issued the call this Thursday.

CNN is trying to contact the CNE for statements on the call from member states.

The UN panel that was in Venezuela from the end of June to August 2 published a preliminary report in August that criticizes the electoral process in the country, in which the CNE declared Nicolás Maduro as the winner of the elections without showing the results disaggregated by center and voting station. The Venezuelan Government rejected the opinion issued by the panel at that time, considering that “it is nothing more than an act of propaganda that serves the coup interests of the Venezuelan extreme right.”

This Thursday’s statement also applauds the Venezuelan people for participating in the elections despite the significant challenges and demands that their decision be respected in the context of the fact that more than 80% of the minutes published by the opposition showed a result different from that announced by the CNE and validated by the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal after the contentious appeal filed by President Nicolás Maduro.

Regarding the departure for Spain of the candidate of the Democratic Unitary Roundtable, Edmundo González, the States subscribing to the call express that it was in response to the political arrest order issued by the Venezuelan authorities that González was “forced into exile.”
