(CNN Spanish) – Former President Evo Morales began a new day this Thursday in the so-called March to Save Bolivia, which he has led since Tuesday against the Government of Luis Arce.
“Today we will arrive in Patacamaya, together with thousands of sisters and brothers, who accompany us with one objective, to fight for our beloved Bolivia, for life, democracy and the revolution,” Morales said in a message on social network X.

Local media had reported that the former president had decided to abandon the march that he himself called to avoid the cause being linked to his search for a re-election candidacy, as the Government considers.

The mobilization aims to reach the Government Palace and as it progresses, different social sectors have joined in, Morales said this Thursday in a message recorded from the journey and published on his social networks.

“After the meeting with the General Staff of the People, the Unity Pact and social organizations, it has been decided that Evo will continue marching until he reaches the headquarters of Government,” announced his Movement towards Socialism party – Political Instrument for the Sovereignty of the People (MAS). -IPSP) on Wednesday.

The former president called the movement to demand 16 demands from the Government, and express the rejection of the referendum proposed by Arce to consult citizens whether or not they would agree to extend the presidential re-election, something that for Morales seeks to curb his aspirations to compete for the executive position again in 2025.
