Democrat Kamala Harris’s detractors criticized her for drastically changing her accent during a speech broadcast at a rally.

Kamala Harris, the Republican presidential candidate, is facing strong criticism for altering her accent during a campaign speech in an attempt to appeal to the citizens of Detroit.

During a Labor Day campaign rally in Detroit, Michigan, the Vice President intentionally exaggerated both her accent and the rhythm of her words, aiming to win the admiration of some union workers who were attentively listening to her campaign message.

“You better thank a union member for the five-day workweek. You better thank a union member for sick leave. You better thank a union member for paid leave. You better thank a union member for vacation time,” she said in an unusual tone, which caused some in the crowd to laugh and others to applaud.

However, Republicans did not find it amusing and severely criticized her on social media.

Stephen Miller, a senior advisor to Donald Trump, reacted strongly to the tone of voice used by the 59-year-old Californian.

“This is her seventh new accent in four weeks. Literally, she’s never used this accent before. She grew up in Canada. She is the fakest politician in all of politics,” he wrote.

On the other hand, Republican strategist Matt Whitlock also expressed his disapproval of the Vice President’s focus on performing and entertaining those who attend her rallies, rather than fully and seriously addressing the country’s problems.

“All politics is an act to Kamala Harris. She changes her fake accent as easily as she changes her stance and political personality. Today, she speaks with a fake Southern accent, pretending to be moderate; next week, she’ll go back to being liberal in San Francisco,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, conservative commentator Greg Price analyzed the same Kamala Harris speech delivered in two different settings.

“The same speech. Two completely different accents. She is the fakest human being to ever exist,” he warned.

Donald Trump himself recently criticized his Democratic opponent for her lack of common sense in promoting policies she had opposed until very recently and also for copying some of his campaign proposals.
