NEW YORK — At 58 years old, Mike Tyson is gearing up for a highly anticipated boxing match against Jake Paul, despite recently facing health issues that delayed the fight. The former heavyweight champion, who once dominated the ring with an iron fist, has assured fans that he’s ready for his bout scheduled for November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Tyson’s return to boxing was postponed after he experienced nausea and dizziness during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles in May. The incident was attributed to an ulcer, but Tyson has resumed training and feels prepared for his comeback. “Hey, listen, I’m just ready,” Tyson declared at a recent press conference packed with enthusiastic fans who cheered him on while booing Paul.

The bout, which will stream on Netflix, was originally set for July 20 but was pushed back due to Tyson’s health concerns. Paul, a social media star turned boxer with a 10-1 record, has been eagerly awaiting this opportunity. Despite acknowledging Tyson’s diminished prowess, Paul views the match as a valuable learning experience. “Big moments, big pressure, big stages,” Paul said. “I’m going to learn a lot in this fight and through this training camp.”

Tyson, who retired in 2005 but made a comeback for an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, remains a significant draw for boxing fans. His upcoming fight against Paul, though featuring eight two-minute rounds with heavier gloves, will also showcase a highly anticipated rematch between super lightweight champion Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, making history as the first women’s boxing bout to headline at Madison Square Garden.

As Tyson prepares to step back into the ring, he remains confident despite the recent setbacks. “I had a small adversity. I got sick, but I’m better,” Tyson affirmed. “I feel good.”
