June 16, 2024 – Fans of the Dragon Ball series have something exciting to look forward to. Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the release of “Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO” at the Summer Game Fest 2024. This game is the first in the Budokai Tenkaichi series in 15 years and is set to launch on October 11, 2024. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
“Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO” aims to recreate the iconic fights from the Dragon Ball series with high fidelity. The new trailer released during the event gave fans a glimpse of what to expect. The game will feature several modes, including Episode Battle and Custom Battle, which allow players to relive key moments from the Dragon Ball saga or create their own battles.
Episode Battle Mode lets players pick one of eight characters to replay significant battles from the series, adding a new twist to each fight. Characters like Goku (Ultra Instinct), Gohan (Super Saiyan 2), Golden Frieza, Bardock, Raditz, Goku Black, Zamasu, and Jiren (Full Power) are confirmed to be part of this mode.
Custom Battle Mode offers a creative playground for fans to imagine and share their dream matchups. Players can either play through developer-designed battles or create their own scenarios and share them online. This mode promises a dynamic and personalized experience.
The game will be available in multiple editions:
- Standard Edition: The base game.
- Digital Deluxe Edition: Includes early access to the game, a season pass with over 20 characters, and the Shenron Summon feature to unlock items.
- Digital Ultimate Edition: Contains all Deluxe Edition content plus extra customization items, an emote voice set, and player card backgrounds.
- Collector Edition: Comes with the Digital Ultimate Edition content, a Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO diorama, and a metallic bookmark.
