The vice president of the Republic Raquel Penaled this Saturday a series of activities in the province of La Vegawhere he delivered works of infrastructure in the sectors of health and sportreaffirming the Government’s commitment to the comprehensive development of the Northern region and the entire country.

Peña inaugurated the Municipal Hospital Dr. Armida García, with an investment of RD$ 149,864,062.47 and marked the beginning of the expansion of the Regional Hospital Dr. Luis Morillo Kingwith a budget of RD$ 142,411,633.02.

In addition, he delivered the roof of the sports center of The Plainin the municipal district of Taveras, a work valued at RD$ 30,745,615.

Strengthening the system health

During its journey, the vice president highlighted the importance of investments made in the sector health.

“Every improvement in our hospitals means an investment in welfare of our people and the future of the Dominican Republic,” said Peña.

The renewed Dr. Armida García Hospital It has an emergency area that includes four observation cubicles, a resuscitation box, triage, emergency office and waiting room.

In addition, areas were set up for surgery, dentistry, neonatology, gynecology, among others. serviceswith 20 new internment beds and a fully equipped laboratory.

Likewise, the expansion of hospital Dr. Luis Morillo King will allow a greater number of internments, contributing to improving the medical attention of the region.

As part of his agenda, Peña handed over the under-roof of the sports center of The Plainin Taveras, a work that will benefit young people and athletes in the community.
