The beginning of this itinerary is located in the parking lot of this natural park closest to the Templar hermitage of San Bartolomé. This 13th century hermitage depends on the Bishopric of Osma and according to the Lobos River Canyon website, these are the visiting hours:

  • Starting with Easter: Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. On Sundays it opens from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Month of August until September 15: Mondays closed. Open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • From September 15 to December long weekend: Saturdays from 111 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. On Sundays it will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The individual entrance has a price of one euro. From this website they advise avoiding times of large influx of public such as Easter, Pilar, the month of August and some weekends.

In this natural park you can enjoy a wide vegetation. Juniper, juniper and black pine predominate along with gall oaks and holm oaks. There are also aromatic plants thyme, lavender and sage. The riparian vegetation It is represented by poplars and willows. Regarding the faunathe most abundant species is the griffon vulture. There are also birds of prey such as eagles and falcons. There are also otters, wild boars, badgers and squirrels.
