This McLaren P1 is made from over 340,000 Lego Technic pieces and was driven by Lando Norris

Do you happen to have 342,817 Lego Technic elements lying around? Then you can do it like Lego and build a full-size McLaren P1 out of it.

But not only that, you can even drive the Lego replica, which is what Formula 1 driver Lando Norris did on the Silverstone race track.

A new record

In doing so, he has also set a new “distance record for a mobile Lego Technic Lego super sports car”.

The McLaren P1 recreated here is 4.98 meters long, 2,101 meters wide and 1,113 meters high and weighs 1,220 kilograms.

393 different elements were used in the construction and eleven of them were made specifically for this model. The engine in turn consists of 768 Lego Power Function motors, which are divided into eight motor packages and are coupled to an electric car battery.

A total of 8,344 hours of work went into the project, including 6,134 hours of development and 2,210 hours of production time.
