The number one of Vox in the Consell de Mallorca, Pedro Bestard, announced this Friday that he is leaving his position as a member of the Vox management in the Balearic Islands but will maintain his institutional positions in the island government where those of Santiago Abascal govern in coalition with the PP and will also continue as Councilor for Citizen Security in the Marratxí City Council.

Bestard’s departure from the regional leadership of the party occurs only 21 days after the deputy of this formation in the Balearic Parliament, Agustín Buades, left the Parliamentary Group and remained as a non-attached deputy.

Buades was part of the group of five deputies that promoted the expulsion of Le Senne from the Vox parliamentary group last February, and also of the deputy Patricia de las Heras, a situation that opened a crisis in the party.

In the case of Bestard, his departure from the regional leadership would also be due to his tense relations with the president of the party in the Balearic Islands and deputy in the Balearic Chamber, Patricia de Las Heras. Bestard was also in favor of the party on the islands having a greater capacity for maneuver and decision before the leadership on Bambú Street in Madrid, headquarters of Vox.
