Republicans currently critical of Donald Trump. At the center of an internal controversy is Laura Loomer, a far-right influencer activist, recently seen alongside the tycoon, who is engaged in the November presidential election campaign.

Renowned for her radical positions and conspiracy theories spread online, she was at the center of heavy criticism from Trumpian Marjorie Taylor Greene, after Loomer’s “racist” comments towards Kamala Harris: “His words do not they represent Republicans or the Make America Great Again movement. And they don’t even represent Trump,” Greene said, referring to statements such as “The White House will smell like curry” and will resemble a “call center” if Harris wins the election. The Republican senator allied with Trump, Lindsey Graham, also made himself heard, inviting the former president to remove the influencer.

Discontent also within the Trump campaign. Furthermore, Loomer’s theory of domestic animals being kidnapped and eaten in Ohio by migrants from Haiti, a theory supported by the former president during the face-to-face meeting with Harris. The influencer then advertised dog collars on social media with the words “not your lunch #MAGA” or “don’t eat me” in Creole.

Born in Arizona in 1993, Loomer defines herself as an investigative journalist and has hit the headlines in recent years for her controversial positions: she defined Islam as a “cancer”, accused Ron De Santis’ wife of having “exaggerated ” her breast cancer, insinuated that Joe Biden was behind Trump’s assassination attempt and that the 9/11 attacks were nothing more than a “machination.”

Despite this, Loomer is an increasingly constant presence in the former president’s entourage. She has long been a guest at his events at Mar-a-Lago and Trump has also supported her in recent years in her attempts to gain a seat in Congress, all of which failed. The criticisms that have rained down on him in recent days for his presence at rallies, but also in the spin-room at the debate, do not seem to shake Trump, who continues to praise her publicly. In January the former president even wanted to hire her in his campaign, but then gave up after strong pressure from his staff not to do so. “I don’t work for anyone; I support Trump independently. And I do so because he truly is this country’s last hope,” Loomer clarified.

“Laura Loomer does not work for the campaign. She is a private citizen and a longtime supporter. I disagree with her statements but, like the many millions of people who support me, she is tired of seeing Marxists and fascists in the radical leftists violently attack and defame me, to the point of doing anything to stop their political opponent, ME!” Donald Trump writes this on Truth Social, after initially refusing to distance himself from Laura Loomer, the far-right activist who, according to some Republican leaders, is exerting a negative influence on the former president.
