Zenless Zone Zero happily continues in version 1.2 with two new S-figures and thus expands the ‘Sons of Calydon‘-Fraction. In addition, expect you from then on September 25, 2024 on the usual platforms a new story expansion including a large new accessible district, a new S-Bangboo, improvements to the software, as well as wild motorcycle rides and many other game modes. You should also be able to switch between Belle and Wise while exploring. Anticipating this, Hoyoverse announced update 1.4 indicates that more figures will be controllable in open areas.
The new characters
In the second ZZZ update you will get to know the ‘Sons of Calydon’ faction, which has not yet been introduced in the story, and includes the new characters Caesar and Burnice. Burnice White is the fiery bartender of the gang and, as the second S-character, has a lot more to offer than just mixing sweet drinks. In her two flamethrowers, she combines the attributes of fire and anomaly into a hot cocktail that deals damage that opponents cannot easily get rid of. The burns she causes remain even if you switch characters.
The active area of the Sons of Calydon is primarily in the Outer zonea desert-like landscape in which there is hardly any life and therefore lawless conditions, like in the Wild West. A first trailer shows that the Sons of Calydon will be in the story expansion ‘Tour de Inferno‘ Meet the proxies and have to compete in action-packed battles against new bosses in order to possibly meet a brand new opponent.

A new agent side quest about Burnice is available for you under the name ‘A Stroke Of Luck‘ ready. You can also expect a new S-Bangboo in its own banner. Red moccus will be eager to support you in battle with his custom-made Bangboo motorcycle and cool leather suit with big explosions.
All new game modes at a glance
A lot of playable elements await you in Zenless Zone Zero Update 1.2. For example, you can in the new Motorcycle racing drive with different characters. Of course, in the sandy void there is plenty of room for wild motor gangs that are constantly competing against each other. For example, our characters compete against their rivals ‘Vanquishers‘ in races.
A new mini-game awaits you at Godfinger, the arcade center in New Eridu. In’Bizarre traveling companion‘ Collect points, new characters and weapons by surviving as long as possible in the dark night with a cute little adventurer. The mini-game is reminiscent of Vampire Survivors.
The new ‘Investigator training course‘ offers you the opportunity to try out different characters from different factions from four courses for free and to level up your current agents, especially new agents, more quickly and receive rewards.
For example, more smaller tasks await you in ‘Roaming the Ether‘, in which you solve smaller puzzles on a vintage display. You’ll also want to stop by the news stand more often, because during ‘Ridu for You‘ there are small picture puzzles through which you can get additional rewards and even name tiles or new profile backgrounds.
Zenless Zone Zero (New S-Rank Figures)
Another version of the ‘141 Friendship Fair‘ will take place in the new update. At this marketplace you can exchange your items for rewards as usual. However, you can fight at ‘Phantom Hunt‘. Additional, particularly strong opponents are added here.
Last but not least, the big new game mode awaits you ‘Overlord’s feast‘ a simulation in which you will manage your own diner. You carry out orders to improve your kitchen, equipment, visitor numbers and income and of course get further rewards for your teams. Here you will also get to know the sons of Calydon and the history behind the outskirts.
Upcoming improvements in Update 1.2
Furthermore, with Update 1.2, Hoyoverse brings further improvements that aim to make the gaming experience even smoother: For example, with Fairy you can automatically collect all observation data and rewards on a game board as soon as you have completed the exploration for the first time.
